Queen Chrysalis by balthazar147 Queen Chrysalis by balthazar147
my most beutifull custom yet, if i say so myself, this baby is made of one of the pink celestia's , and maaan did it take long to get evrything in order,

i did something all new, normaly i work with hot glue,
this time i worked with actual plastic for the mane wing and tail

the colors were kinda anoying at some time but the metalic gave a nice finish~ im realy happy with her, and it was both fun... as a pain to make...
my poor ... poor burned/cut/painted/glued fingers ;~;

Wow it looks great! I tried making one myself last week, but the legs broke in the oven so I have to make new legs. Luckily it had only been in the oven for 5 minutes, so I can add new legs (with wiring in them) and not have to glue them on.

How much do you want for one of these? Cash, credit, I'll pay either.

Your fingers were a necessary sacrifice.. This is actual artwork... or should I say: THIS IS ART!!!!! "kick"

I was totally planning on making a blind-bag size changeling minion for my own Chrysalis! I was worried about the size difference but that looks great! I'll have to do that when I get some time. Nicely done.

Tell me about your technique. How did you use hot glue? I'm clumsy (I can completely identify with your finger pains) so I tend to avoid the stuff like the plague (and my glue gun is literally 20 years old and very temperamental). How did you modify the feet? I used a drill but I found that doing the half-holes with it was next to impossible because of the nature of the plastic and I didn't feel like carving it out would produce an acceptable smooth result so I left them out. What's your sculpting media of choice? I'm a Sculpey addict but I like to compare notes about different products.

Sorry for all the questions! I'm just interested in seeing what you did differently than me and how I might improve in future builds. I know this was a difficult custom to do, especially because the Celestia base has no tooth whatsoever. You did a lovely job and should be proud.

i havent used sculptey yet, for it is hard to get where i live. i use either hot glue or plastic, the holes are drilled, but not by dril but with a dremel, wich is a very handy tool for these things, i use Citadel paint to paint, way smoother, acrylic can leave nasty lines,

and thank you for all the kind words ;3

Citadel paint? I'll have to look into that. Thanks!
